Luca Pozzi

Luca Pozzi (1983) is an interdisciplinary artist bridging Art, Theoretical Physics, Multi-Messenger cosmology, spirituality and Computer Science. Graduating from the Accademia di Brera of Milan with a focus on painting, computer graphics and systems, he collaborates with leading scientific institutions including CERN, NASA, INFN and Perimeter Institute.


His work translates complex theoretical research into immersive, hybrid installations, featuring magnetized sculptures, levitating objects, Lecture Performances, VR/AR/AI experiences and photographs, all exploring themes and problematics about Quantum Gravity.

STATEMENT

“Space-time is an all-encompassing container, where everything is next to each other in a holistic sense. There is a strange feeling of frozen time. Past, present and future are indistinguishable. A series of multidisciplinary correspondences are converging into a beautiful network of pure and basic information beyond geographical, political and linguistic borders.


The importance of the less intuitive aspects of our reality: Loop Quantum Gravity, Entanglement, Multi-Messenger Cosmology, Artificial Intelligence and Biodiversity. The result is an unusual correlation between theoretical physics, informatics and contemporary art.”

Since 2007 Luca Pozzi’s work has been exhibited in major museums and galleries in Italy and abroad, and his pieces are part of prestigious public and private collections, including the Mart in Rovereto, the MAMbo in Bologna, the MEF in Turin, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs La Farnesina and the Archive of Spatial Aesthetics and Praxis of New York.
He is known for his photographic series “Supersymmetric Partner” (2007-2014), documenting real jumps in front of the Renaissance paintings of Paolo Veronese, and for his use of electromagnetic levitation technologies in futuristic installations such as “Schroedinger’s cat through Piero Della Francesca influence “(Museo Marino Marini, 2010), “9 Churches 9 Columns” (Moscow Biennale, 2011) and “The Star Platform” (Marrakech Biennale, 2012). In 2013, he invented the device of light drawing by remotely “Oracle” (DLD, Haus der Kunst, Monaco); 2015 was the year of the show “The Messengers of Gravity” (MEF, Turin), and 2017 he creates the cross-disciplinary “Blazing Quasi-Stellar Object” project (CERN, Geneva). At the same time, he attended “Documenta 14” as part of the “Eternal Internet Brotherhood community” (Kassel).
Subsequently he worked on immersive site-specific installations in historical environments (The Grandfather Platform – Sala Carracci, Palazzo Magnani, Bologna, Art City, 2018). In 2019 and during the pandemic crisis from Covid-19 he deepens the tools of augmented reality with the “Dark Collection Brera” and “Dark Collection Sistine-Chapel” series, while in 2020 his first work in Virtual Reality “Rosetta Mission 2020” was the winner of the European fund ERC An-Iconology (History, Theory, and Practices of Environmental Images) of the Statale University of Milan. In September 2021 he inaugurates the Hyperinascimento project at the FMAV (Fondazione Modena Arti Visive) focused on the definition of a new hyper-technological humanism, while in 2022 it is part of the 23rd Milan Triennale “UNKNOWN UNKNOWNS” curated by ESA astrophysics Ersilia Vaudo.
He is the winner of the VDA Award for digital Arts in 2023.
